Tinok Ben Aviva
hey guys, i'm sure you've all heard about tinok ben aviva. well, last week there was a whole kenis to say tehillim for teh baby, Rabbii Brown spoke as well as R' Nissela and teh mother of eth baby. the whole evening was extremely insipring and i just want to share with you guys some ideas that were shared.
R'Brown:
The tzaros of the individual are usually placed there to make us to wake up and pay attention to the tzaros of the klal. Living in Eretz Yisrael, we have so many wars and attacks against our routine since its independence, we do have to go and live a routine life, but not so routine that we don’t fulfill “dirshu Hashem b’ozo, bekshu panav tamid.” Sometimes Hashem’s face eludes us. Hashem showed us His face at Har Sinai in a form that if we want to, we will never forget it. The Ramban says that Hashem is always testing us to see if we repay Him His good. Do good or bad things bring us closer to Hashem or further? Beyom hahi yehiyeh Hashem echad ushemo echad. Everyone will see His good, the chachma, and the beauty of Torah. Today, though, only the Jewish people see it. We are such a small number; we don’t even come up to a digit. Yet, our presence is everywhere, permeating the world. The posuk says dirshu….bikshu, yet we are always taught that Hashem is everywhere? If that is true then why is it necessary to seek Him? The answer is He is everywhere that YOU look for Him. We cannot simply allow ourselves to slip back into the daily routine of our lives. We must identify with the tzaros and do something about it. People are the most magnificent, complex creations and we reveal Kavod Hashem spectacularly, more than any other creation.
Hashem gave us the ability to be faithful to Him, at Har Sinai. There is a story of a young talmid who heard a shmuess from R’Dessler and was extremely inspired and wanted to know what he should do lemaisah. He asked R’ Dessler what he should do, and R’Dessler answered “to be smarter is the greatest lemaisah.” To grasp what torah really is, to grasp the endlessness of Hashem’s wisdom, the tehom of din and to realize there is more rachamim than chesed. Our concept of beginning and end is seriously skewed. Beginnings are really culminations and ends are really beginnings. Hashem is in control of everything. We need to raise our selves above routine; we take everything in life for granted. Of course we are going to get married right away and have children that are healthy ASAP. We never think that there may be possibilities besides what we perceive to be the norm. We must lift ourselves above routine. for when we live in routine, we miss teh vital messages Hashem is sending us, we become numb to everything, ignoring the pleas of teh neshama, yelling that it wants to grow but we have accustomed ourselves to tune out everything that is irregular/uncomfortable. how often do we get a gnawing feeling, but instead of taking a moment to figuire out what teh feeling is coming from, we rather ignore it, pushing it away. this is teh antithesis of jewish life and growth. im learning this sefer called bridging the gap by Avi Fertig( its amazing, you should get it if you can) and he suggests taking time out everyday to sit by ourselves and just get in touch with ourselves and to listen to our neshamos, for this is teh only way we will be able to have any real growth.
R'Nissel: his words im just gonna paraphrase very quickly bcz its very similar to mrs.tarshish's speech on shevat. shevat is a time of confusion adn a tiem of growth. we have to be focused liek a tree, onour growth, shevat is full of confusion but we have to clear our lives from obstructions to allow ourselves to grow like teh children of hashem we our, and we should ask Hashem that in the merit of our removing our obstructiosn tinok ben aviva should have a refua shlaima.
Mrs. Aviva Feiner: She is another example of when ordinary people prove to be extraordinary! she kept reffering to teh child as our baby, teh baby of klal yisrael. she kept mentioning how fortunate she sees herslef to be teh mother of a child who has brougt such a kiddush Hashem into teh world .
Hashem rebukes us like a son is rebuked by his father. Tochacha-to prove. When Hashem challenges us, He is asking us to prove something to Him. We thank Hashem that He is up there in control. How could the Jewish people survive without emuna in Hashem; we thank Hashem for the opportunity to have emuna in Him. We are to use our strengths as women to serve Hashem k’rzono. Hashem made us women according to His will and I’ll use my strengths only for His will, that’s why He created me. Hashem gave us the chance to mekadesh His name on earth as the angels do in the upper worlds. When we do this, Hashem says He will sit with us, “I don’t want to be with the angels, rather with you My children.” We are so lucky to be Jews. Hashem wants me!we have to appreciate how lucky we are to be able to have teh opportunity to daven to hashem twice a day (as girls) how often do we hear ourselves saying 'uch,i have to go daven now, im not in teh mood.' but if we only appreciated teh opportunity we have to talk to teh Creator of the world whenever we want, and to remember that everuthing taht we have comes from Him. we often feel that Baruch Hashem i have eveything i need i dont need to ask for anything, alas thsi is nevber true, we have to constantly ask Him for teh basics taht we altready have, we assume that jsut bcz we alreadu have it, it means that we deserve it. how far is this from teh truth. everything we have is a complete gift from our Father and we can never forget that or take advantage of taht fact.
