What is your default?

Humans are creatures of habit, (animals may be too in fact they probably are but lets stick with humans for now shall we?)We like to park in the same spot. In class we pick the same seat over and over again. We tend to hang with the same friends we've been hanging with forever doing the same thing. We tend to get the same haircuts, and even put a song on repeat at times that is how badly we abhor change (at times.) It is a basic law of physics that an object will go in the direction it is pushed until something deliberately gives it another course to follow... it takes a great act of courage to make change. you know that initial freak out when the girl with hair to her toes gets a pixie cut? " OMG! i cant believe u did that? how did u cut it all off? Weren't you scared?" etc etc. Imagine the trepidation when i, avid kick boxer attended my first yoga class (trepidation-cynicism-same thing). When the punk-rocker goes for collared shirt and pencil skirt. The alcoholic g

Fidldling With the Right Thing

Elul is here, its that time of year, Rosh Hashana is coming near.. (those are the only words of the song i remember if you do know the words please feel free to leave em in the comment box or email me) Its the time of year when we re-connect with our Father and make all of our "New Year's Resolutions" and we are all familiar with the concept that we need to take on something small, not too big something really easy and then maybe we have a chance of actually committing to it. but what to change, there a millions of small changes we can make on the road to perfection. we are so far from finished with our avoda that the sign isn't even on the highway yet. were still looking for it. so what do we choose, how to pick what to fix? last night i was having issues with my web cam. what else is new right? but it was so strange because i finally got it to turn on but then it was upside down or sideways i wasn't sure exactly what was going on, so I'm messing with

Ahhhhhhhhhh...So it's over!! For a while now anyway... The sleepless nights pouring over my despised chemistry book.. It's done! And somehow I'm remarkably awake ( it may have to do with the music blasting in my ears...) Yesterday I went to Starbucks looking for a change of scenery from my room...and I started loading up the caffeine hey I get free refills why not? So after my third one the dude told me I had enough so I changed to tea for the next two refills and I walked out with a venti ice coffee to help me get through the rest of the night... Thing is though.. I never finished it- it's actually sitting on my desk right now and I was getting ready to leave this morning I contemplated making a coffee.. But I couldn't even stomach the idea of it- it was past the point of too much... The mere mention of " latte" makes my stomach curdle... This is classic case of " too much of a good thing." one or two coffee would've been nic

its been a while i know..im sorry... you know the feeling when you see someone and they don't see you? you are driving by a friend you honk, u wave they totally don't notice you..so either u call em all excited " i just saw u!" or if its Shabbat and you are walking by then you just keep walking oh well..better luck next time. now lets say you were planning on meeting someone lets say in times sq (bad meeting place btw!) and ur trying to meet up with an old friend that you haven't seen in ages! So you look around for her and finally score! You see her you know its useless to try to wave and shout..so you use modern technology ie. your blessed cell phone "look straight now turn right no your other right..k now take five steps to the left and slowly turn around and look straight right under the Target sign..you see me?..."  finally after many directions you have a joyful reunion and all is good in the world. Try scenario three: in this scenario there
