i dont know the original...and my pleasure. I was first sent it by my friend from Aish and then the executive producer of the company emailed me asking me to post it..how cud i say no? :P
ya i saw it- im not such a fan of the fountainheads- they are fun yea..but the whole girls singing and dancing thing being representative of jews...i doesn't do it for me
They don't seem to be such a religious group. I guess in their circles that's okay. And I am not one to say bring the Torah down to the people, however if their kiruv works than why not?
they dont seem religious thats true- its just frustrating that because they get so popular they send an incorrect message about what judaism is about. I dont know how much kiruv comes from their stuff
also,as my Rav says- when you change halacha in order to be mekarev--what exactly are you being mekarev them too
( that being said they obviously are not into this to do kiruv- i realize that)
What is the difference between the aish video and theirs? Besides having girls singing in it. They are both fun videos trying to bring Jews closer to Judaism. Just two different approaches.
When you put it so simply... I am not disagreeing with you, merely trying to see if from a different point of view. Maybe they did not make this video for kiruv at all, but just for the fun of it. And maybe they don't know there is anything wrong with a man listening to a woman sing.
Ahhh, the prelude. There is actually a speaker tonight for girls, Rabbi Manis Friedman, I don't know if you heard about him. I'm debating whether to go or not.
:) On the other hand, my friend said 'let's hang out tonight'. And that doesn't include going to a shiur. That's what I'm debating. I never go to shiurim, but I heard great things About Manis Friedman. Friend, or shiur? The ultimate question. Or, can I do both?
my love how many letters have i written you that i dont know if u have read how many have i composed in my head, how many tears i shed thinking of you missing you wow, its been 4 years almost, and yet your still the first person i think of when things are hard and i need comfort, seeing you the other night and you basically ignoring me the whole night i tried loving someone else, i really tried but i cant because u took my heart and never gave it back, that shabbat, we had just met a few weeks earlier, you took my arm and told me you were never going to let go and that you never felt so safe, that moment lives with me always because you did let go, and i have not been able to. there is something about you that i cant explain, i always want to be with you, i always want to hear your voice i am forever linked to you as much as i want to deny it. yet, your cold, detached but i love you and everything is so messed up, and i just want to go back to that shabbat when u climb...
I don't usually write about anything Shidduch related. But I saw this today and it really captures how I view shidduchim. People have their theories and opinions about how and why and what. If i get my nose done, go to singles events, make more contacts, anything, then maybe I'll get married sooner. Compromise more. Maybe we need more incentives for shadchanim? My theory. G-d runs the world. He makes Shidduchim. G-d has no crisis. The end.
:) a) i love the original song. b) cute vid, thanks for posting.

ReplyDeleteyour right..they are both fun videos..not disagreeing with that..
ReplyDeletethe girls singing is where the diff lies..and i think its a big diff- one is in the confines of halacha and one is not
