Not Only

Is De-nile a large river in Egypt..

its also a great coping mechanism.

We all try usually to have healthy lives~emotionally, physically, spiritually. Yet, sometimes, much to our chagrin we do not have the adequate resources to deal with things; be it time, money, brain space. At that moment it just is not humanely possible to process and react in a  healthy mature manner.

So we default into our coping mechanism. We do whatever it takes to get through the day. We ignore the issues, we devalue them, allow ourselves to be distracted, escape. Whatever it takes.

I tend to over think. If things are not going all hunky dory I think and think and think, analyze, look through different views. Argue with myself.

Right now, I do not have that luxury. The end of the semester is looming ahead. Projects are due. Tests are piling up. The hours in the day just do not seem enough.

So for right now i am going to take a page out of Egypt's book and go into a state of denial. No thinking about anything that is not school. I cannot afford to be distracted.

So I am choosing to live in the present. Not giving a second thought about anything that is not medically inclined.

  1. Lucky you. Sometimes those distractions can be such a blessing. Sometimes thinking hurts too much...and distractions are the only way to get away from everything that's going on.

On a side note, good luck making it through this tough time of studying, tests, papers and homework!
