COOL MAN!
It happened again! I woke up at 5:30 am and the first words that came out of my mouth were " the neurilma is the outer layer of the schwann cell" anybody who knows what im talkin abt has obviously taken A&P. i couldnt believe that the words came out of my mouth i was horrified, but i didnt have that much time to dwell on it...anyway, thought you should knwo what is running thru my head while im trying to get out of teh house to this glorious job while the rest of you are sleeping soundly in bed.
before i start into my usual tirade i just want everyone to know that starbucks just came out with thanksgving drinks that sound really yum, check out which ones are kosher at kosherstarbucks.com.i cant seem to get a continuous thought in my head so on to the next thing. so you know what they say about goyish college? its true. i remember distinctly when i was a senior i had a meeting with my principal abt sem and college and she was telling me to be careful cuz when u are in that setiing it will seem totally natural to study with a boy in your class, and i was all like "mrs feldman you do not have to worry, i have no intentions of studying with or for that matter even talking to any guys- no problem!" fine things move on,i go to BC then on to be a kitchen mad for BS while in moreshes bais yaakov and now im back.
two days ago i was in school and i was sitting in the library studying for the next class, so im on the comp studying (the notes are online) when this guy who is in my AP class and chem plops himself down nxt to me and he wants to study with me, fine i cant be rude so im basically teaching him everything, then he turns to me and says, you're jewish right? (ive missed a lot of classes and labs) yeah i say,"that is so cool!"my first thought was, you are certainly a minority if you think that being jewish is really cool, most pple think that we are the reason for all the problems in the world (which we are BTW which makes us all that cooler) they usually want to eliminate, annihilate and expunge us from the face of the world, but he thinls that its cool.
my next question to myself was, "do i think being jewish is cool" do jews think that being jewish is cool. at this point im not even reffering to secular jews, im talking abt shomer shabbat jews who cover their heads and attend services three times a day 7days a week. do they think being jewish as being the COOLEST THING EVER! or do we just see it as a bunch of rules and regulations that keep us from doing the things taht we really wanna do?in my humble opinion i believe taht we have to make an effort to daily remember how lucky we are that we are the chosen pple, we are the pple that have a direct line to the Creator of the world. our Father is the King of the Universe. how special are we? we are a nation of priests adn a holy nation.
we can reach beyond the mundane and live holy lives. we dont need to go skydiving to feel alive, just walk into a shul friday night duingt lecha dodi, its impossible not to feel alive!we are truly a totally radically cool nation. our power is so far reaching, our actions determine the price of oil, whether the the hundredth ketusha landing will fall into an empty field or into a busy caffe. we have unbelivable power, if we ignore it, it doesnt go away, its just wasting away, so i have to leave in a sec, so i just wanna send a shout out to a certain someone, you know who you are , if you would like a personlaized shout out all u have to do, is give me a call, and u too can be shouted at..anywhose just to end, remember we are a supernation- you a superhero capable of changing the course of the world, so dont neglect your pple, and remember you are totally cool!
